If so, Athwal Resourcing has been appointed by a manufacturing subsidiary of a large Blue Chip multinational business who is seeking a Finance Manager for their Telford site; to ensure the business meets its key financial, operational and strategic objectives.
You will be the Finance lead on site and a key member of the local site management team, supporting the Plant Director and reporting directly to the Divisional Finance Director. The role is hands-on primarily supporting, controlling, and managing all aspects of the finance function for this site, delivering against objectives and ensuring a coordinated approach in line with the business future strategy. The role requires not only the usual site Finance Manager duties, but also some operational and commercial improvement projects.
This role will challenge the status quo, seeking out the best way forward and help make the necessary changes to ensure best practice is achieved within the business.
Financial Control and Reporting for the monthly financial results and plant operational performance to the Group. This includes maintaining robust and timely financial reporting, completing monthly management accounts, understanding variances and ensuring all day to day accounting is completed accurately, as well as the preparation of management reports for the business, including providing analytical direction and actions to achieve the targeted results;
Streamlining Processes and Procedures, implementing improvements to achieve a strong business control environment;
Operational Excellence in maintaining and developing management reporting and KPI dashboards of plant performance, and sales and gross profit margins by customer/work stream, in line with strategic targets;
Directing, Managing and Motivating a team of two;
Business Partner to take an active role with both the central and local management teams on strategic decisions, and operational, commercial and financial matters; to identify, evaluate and propose productivity and performance improvements for the business;
Ad hoc Projects, working within cross-functional teams locally and across the wider business on intitiatives to improve performance.
The background and key attributes
Be a qualified accountant either ACMA/ACCA/ACA;
Hands-on experience within an operational finance role;
A good background in standard costing;
Strong drive to ensure there is continuous improvement and getting things done;
Working alongside a highly motivated management team, you must be able to back up your thoughts with strong arguments and evidence for the best of the business;
Be IT literate (Excel, Powerpoint,) with financial modelling, analysis and evaluation skills and worked with ERP systems;
Confident with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation and with third parties.
