Athwal Resourcing has been appointed to source a high calibre Group Finance Controller for a dynamic business that has enjoyed significant growth over the last few years; organically and via acquisition. This multi-sited business is committed to continued growth and investment, and this has resulted in the need for a high calibre Group Finance Controller to join the senior management team to work closely with the Chief Executive Director and help drive the business even further forward.
This position sits in the heart of the business to manage and develop a support team for the business and ensure effective financial reporting and robust financial controls and disciplines are in place. Ensure financial performance is in line with the strategic goals and the risks are communicated to the business. To work closely with internal key members of senior management team to find solutions to issues and manage the relationship with external parties.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Group Financial Controller will have wide-ranging responsibilities including:
Financial Reporting: Being accountable for the financial reporting of the businesses; the timely monthly management accounts and production of Board packs for the multi-sited Group; To produce annual financial statements and information for auditors and be fully responsible for the consolidated financial accounts for the group;
Operational Excellence: Being part of the senior management team and regularly attending Board and operational meetings to provide a Dashboard of performance KPIs and MI to support strategic and operational decisions;
Staff Management: To manage and development the finance function of the business; and to ensure high-quality financial controls are in place and commercial analysis is available on a timely basis;
Budgeting and forecasting: Prepare the budgeting and forecasting for the Group; Monitoring cash flow and working capital management on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
Business partnering; Providing support to the operational and commercial teams by attending operational meetings and challenging the business in line with Dashboard KPI reports and strategic targets;
External liaison: Be the primary point of contact with external Auditors and Accountants, Bank and Third Party suppliers and occasionally be involved in resolving issues with Customers and External Suppliers;
Ad hoc Projects: Provide support to the CEO and Boar of Director’s on projects such as the development of the IT systems and continuous process improvements initiatives.
