Athwal Resourcing is currently looking for an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Supervisor who is immediately available with a ‘can do’ attitude on behalf of an established forward thinking family run business with multi sites based neared Wolverhampton. The business has grown organically and is in need for an operationally focused Bookkeeper/Accounts Supervisor who can carry out bookkeeping duties and ensure the smooth day to day running of the small but busy accounts office. Initially the role will be for a 6-9 month contract with the possibility of a position becoming permanent.
Your Responsibilities will includ
Supervising the Accounts Payable team and being responsible for invoice processing including matching purchase invoices against the appropriate delivery notes/purchase order and following up queries both in house and with suppliers;
Answer telephone/emails and manage suppliers in relation to invoices queries and payments;
Ensuring authorisation and processing of supplier payments via Bacs and cheque;
Work with the team to ensure all sales invoices and purchase invoices are processed in a timely manner to maintain the integrity of the financial ledgers;
Dealing with the administration for financial paperwork including setting up and maintaining both customer and supplier accounts on file, updating paperwork as required;
Assisting with credit control and chasing outstanding customer credit;
Ensuring stock is recorded onto computer system;
Assisting the team with any help or assistance as and when required;
Working on special projects in the transition from current system to Kerridge 8;
Provide support and training to apprentice accounts assistant, coaching and mentoring.
The successful candidate will:
Hands on bookkeeping experience within an accounts office and in processing both purchase ledger and sales;
Supervised and managing the accounts payable and receivable functions;
Have previous experience of working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and customers;
Excellent both verbal and written communication and customer service skills;
Enthusiastic and organised individual who can take responsibility and have the ability to prioritise and organise your own workload as well as others;
Attention to detail and working to tight deadlines
Fully conversant with Microsoft products, word and excel.
