Athwal Resourcing is currently recruiting for a Finance Manager for a rapidly growing and inquisitive business based in Wednesbury. The business continues to grow organically and has now created a new position for an operational people-focused Finance Manager with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude. The Finance Manager will be responsible for the Management Reporting, day-to-day management of the finance team and the processing of all the financial data and management information of the finance function. This includes the accounting, reporting and taking on the responsibility for ensuring the day-to-day central finance office is running smoothly.
This is an exciting time to join a growing business and would ideally suit an individual who wants and enjoys oversees an account function, ensuring the finance function is operationally efficiently and effectively, particularly in developing and improving timely, accurate and quality management information.
Key Responsibilities for the Finance Manager:
Monthly Management Information: To ensure all accounting is complete, including accruals and prepayments journals and produce the monthly management reporting with variance analysis is completed in a timely manner;
Staff Management: Overall responsibility for the management of the finance staff consisting of sales/purchase ledgers supervisors and payroll staff;
Financial Control: Complete the balance sheet reconciliations and oversee and complete the bank reconciliations for the multiple accounts;
Payroll: Oversee payroll and to prepare the journals for weekly and monthly payrolls and occasionally required to process payroll;
External Stakeholders: To complete the statement reconciliations for invoice finance and provide financial information externally as and when required;
Budgeting: Assist in the annual budget preparation and set targets and monitor against the actuals on a monthly basis;
Operational Excellence: Preparation of other reports as requested by the Directors and supporting the Finance team with added value initiatives to ensure the finance team’s smooth running and ensuring high service levels to both internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will:
Ideally be fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA or QBE;
Demonstrable experience in the day to day running of a finance office for a multi-company environment,
Hands-on experience in overseeing and the preparation of management accounts;
Able to manage a small finance team, be self-motivated and highly organised with a strong administrative management background;
A good knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping;
Able to work proactively while unsupervised and use own judgement;
Enthusiastic with excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
Able to build relationships both internally;
Experience of SAGE 200 would be beneficial.
