Our client is a long-established business that has consolidated and grown to become a leading supplier within the automotive industry.
As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for sales across all businesses within the group. You will be nurturing the existing customer base; you will also develop new clients and business streams.
You will be reporting to the Managing Director and working with the Senior Board, continuously recommending new opportunities, reappraising tools and processes to maximise efficiency and returns.
Key duties and responsibilities
Management of a small sales team – Leading and managing all activities within sales, including campaign management, account management, operations, customer support, communications, lead generation and sales targets;
Optimisation of sales and margin opportunities with existing customers – Ensuring the highest levels of customer service are maintained and that sales margins are optimised so that budgeted sales and margin targets are met;
Spearheading the sales’ strategy – Agree on revenue targets with Senior Management ensuring that they remain consistent and aligned to the business’s overall strategy to increase sales revenue in each of the business’s verticals and services;
New Business Development – Identifying and developing new customers and markets, including the development of the retail sector of the group;
Working with Stakeholders – Close working relations must be developed and maintained with all teams, particularly Purchasing to identify and bring to market new products and parts currently not available;
Customer Database Ensure completeness and accuracy of customer data and price lists.
Adhoc projects – new sales initiatives in line with operational and strategic projects as directed Manging Director and Senior Board.
You will ideally have some or all of the following:
Credibility and proven track record with the customer at its heart within B2B and B2C markets, including online sales;
Experience in working in a fast-paced auto parts aftermarket. Knowledge of the classic car parts market would be advantageous, especially Jaguar Landrover.
Proven track record of solid team-building and management experience in people development, man-management and motivation;
Demonstrable experience in building long term successful customer relationships at all levels;
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills;
Good communication skills, both written and verbally;
Excellent customer service focus;
