Our client has created a new role for a Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller in ensuring the day-to-day accounting & controlling of the well-established engineering business near Wolverhampton.

The duties of the Management Accountant role will include assisting the Financial Controller in:
Accounting Assisting in the timely production of monthly accounts ensuring all revenues, costs, assets and liabilities are recorded accurately;
Analysis Provide sales and gross profit analysis, segmental profitability by business unit and explanations for manufacturing variances, including labour and overhead;
Inventory Ensure accurate inventory and gross margin, including analysis of inventory as well as adjustments, stock reporting, stock valuation and stock taking;
Costing Assist in the update and maintenance of accurate labour and overhead rates for product costing and cost-plus pricing;
Controlling Assist in producing financial information to provide commercial insight to aid the decision-making process;
Budget Control Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, longer-term financial forecasts and measure actual performance against those objectives;
Projects Looking at ways to stay ‘lean’ and continuous improvements projects to support the accounting function;
System Development Assist in integrating the business systems to improve accuracy and efficiency;
Ad hoc reporting and duties which arise as part of the function of the finance team.
Ideally, you will:
Be graduate calibre studying towards CIMA/ACCA or QBE;
Have hands-on experience working within accounts and controlling function;
Preferable have working in an engineering and manufacturing environment;
Have good systems knowledge and be proficient at Excel;
Have to desire to work on continuous improvement projects and challenge the status quo;
Be a team player who can work effectively independently and with all departments within the business;
Must demonstrate a high standard of communication skills and an ability to communicate at all levels;
Have a demonstrable record of achievement both academically and from a work experience perspective;
Ability to self-motivate, manage and organise time effectively and achieve positive results;
Good interpersonal skills with experience in dealing with key personnel across multiple disciplines.
