Athwal Resourcing is recruiting for a newly created part qualified Management Accountant for an established and successful Dudley based SME with ambitious plans to grow the business over the next five years. You will be part of a small finance team in a busy office and reports to the Finance Director. The company is seeking a Management Accountant who will be ‘operationally minded’ to carry out the day-to-day accounting duties and to provide key management accounts and operational information to support the business’s future growth plans. As the business expands, the role will also go from a hands-on management accountant to incorporate forward-looking adding value projects. The company offers study support for CIMA/ACCA and a career-enhancing role as the business moves in its next growth phase.
As Management Accountant, you will be exposed to:
Month End Assist in the prepare the month-end accounting to trial balance and post monthly journals, prepayments & accruals;
Stock Control Involved in stock control – Stock reconciliations, obsolete stock analysis and WIP analysis;
Fixed Asset Control of Fixed Asset Register including additions/disposals/ depreciation postings;
Day to day invoicing Assist the purchase/sales ledger when required;
Monthly Margin Analysis Build-up and review of sales margins at transaction level;
Job Costing Process timesheets and complete job costing analysis;
Balance sheet account reconciliations including bank and control accounts;
Daily Cashflow analysis/forecasts to ensure working capital and cash flow is monitored;
VAT Returns prepare the group VAT returns;
Variance analysis Analysis of actual vs standard costs;
Monthly Accounts Full control of accounts for a small subsidiary company from processing purchases, sales invoices and bank reconciliations;
Special Projects Assist with new ERP implementation/finance developments (e.g. AP software);
Analytical Provide meaningful KPI information to support operational decision making;
Adhoc Duties Work projects directed by the Finance Director deem necessary.
My client is looking for the right attitude and ideally some of the experience below:
Ideally, be AAT level 4 or part qualified to attain CIMA or ACCA;
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and the want to deliver management accounts to trial balance;
Previous experience of working in a busy small office environment;
IT skills – Fully conversant with Microsoft, especially Excel (VLookups. Pivots) and accounting packages;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the ability to work and communicate with all levels of people;
Self-motivated, driven individual can work alone or as part of a team;
Have a proactive approach, work on own initiative and can manage your own workload.
Whats on Offer
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 per annum + Pension + Study + Hybrid Working
Holidays: 25.5 days plus bank holidays
Hours:37 hours (1 hour lunch or flexitime to take shorter lunch 30 mins)

Death in Service 4 times earnings
