If so, Athwal Resourcing has a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Sales Director or Manager to head up the Commercial side of the business – based on the outskirts of Wolverhampton. Sales have grown year on year, so with new investment into the Senior Leadership team and the introduction of a new business ERP system, the business is looking to strengthen its position within the landscaping sector across the UK.
As Sales and Marketing Director you will have full control and responsibility for leading all sales and marketing duties within the organisation. You will be instrumental in developing, agreeing, and delivering the long-term Sales and Marketing strategy for the business. Initially, you will look at improving the current working practices within the existing sales team; end to end sales processes, enhancing the current sales activities – both volume and profitability. Whilst providing inspirational leadership to the Sales and Marketing team in line with the company vision, establishing and holding employees to clear standards of performance. Longer term, as part of the Senior Board you will be working to maximise shareholder return; continuously looking to identify new trends and opportunities, penetrating & developing new sales channels, reappraising marketing tools within the company, to ensure the company is leading edge and has a competitive advantage.
Your responsibilities: –
Strategy & Organisation: Be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Sales and Marketing. Appraising the company’s current sales and marketing strategy and developing new marketing techniques to enhance future sales and ensure the team remains consistent and aligned to the business’s overall strategy;
Sales Channels: Identify and develop new business opportunities and establish new B2B sales as well as B2C;
Product Development: Work with the operational team to create new financially viable products & services that provide strong USPs and new profit streams;
Finance: Responsible for the Sales and Marketing budget in line with the Strategic plan. Accountable for providing sales analysis reports at Management meetings;
Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership to both internal stakeholders and external clients, delivering timely and effective communication, maintaining good relations, and encourage a culture based on trust and respect;
Staff Management: You will be instrumental in leading from the front and managing the sales and marketing team. By engaging, developing and training the sales team to achieve their individual and collective targets for the business;
Dashboard of KPI: Develop a dashboard of KPIs, so managers have meaningful sales volumes and selling prices targets and planned actions that deliver the Company’s goals;
Performance Analysis: Track variances to relevant KPIs and PIs and implement corrective actions;
Process Improvements: To lead a process of continuous improvement across the company for the benefit of the business;
Commercial Knowledge: To take a lead role at Board discussions and keep Directors abreast of sales trends, market developments including competitor analysis within the Industry to drive business growth;
Network: attend events within the industry to promote the company and establish new customer relationships.
Ideally, you will be:-
Of graduate calibre;
Have extensive proven sales and marketing background in growing multi-million-pound business sales in a change management environment;
Demonstrable sale experience building long term customer relationships within the B2B market as well as B2C, construction-related customers would be advantageous;
Proven experience in successfully recruiting, developing and managing a motivated commercial team;
Be commercially astute with a good understanding of the sales and profit drivers delivering results on time and within budget;
Have a consultative approach working with internal stakeholders in delivering customer solutions which provide measurable benefit to the customer;
Have grown and built a commercial team that can drive the sales growth in line with the company’s ambitions;
Be able to hold your own in dealing with peers and be able to influence and create the future sales strategic plan in line with the vision of the Board;
Have effective communication skills both written and verbally.

Salary:£60000 - £70000 per annum + Car+Bonus Profit Related+H/C+Pension
